Born ’33. Built ’56. Blessed ’57.

We proudly unveil our 70th anniversary logo that honors the journey of St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church of Greater Boston, and the generations whose faith built our community.

In 1933, a determined group of faithful Armenians came together with a vision born out of the commitment to preserve our faith. They began as all sprouting parishes (“dzookh” in Armenian) do—small and worshipping in a temporary, rented space. Despite the multiple challenges of that era, they were determined to establish a spiritual home, and decades later, acquired the property on which our church now stands.

In 1956, as the community had grown and required its permanent home, that vision took shape with the groundbreaking and building of our church.

In 1957, the sanctuary was consecrated and blessed, receiving the name St. Stephen’s and beginning a new chapter in the life of our flourishing parish.

For nearly seven decades, our community has worshipped together, celebrated milestones, served those in need, preserved our faith and heritage, and passed our traditions from one generation to the next. Through moments of joy and challenge alike, St. Stephen’s has remained a place of faith, fellowship, and belonging.

As we celebrate the 70th Anniversary of St. Stephen’s Church this year and next, this new logo serves as a tribute to our past and a symbol of our future. While we honor the sacrifices and dedication of those who came before us, we also look ahead with hope, strengthening our parish, our schools, and supporting our Greater Boston community organizations for generations yet to come.
